Google Search Console is the primary data source for UPBEAT OS’s SEO features. Connecting GSC unlocks your SEO Score, keyword ranking data, click-through rates, impressions, and the topic cluster analysis that drives Beat’s content recommendations.

What this integration enables

Once connected, UPBEAT OS pulls your GSC data daily and uses it to:
  • Calculate your SEO Score (the hero metric on the Performance dashboard)
  • Populate keyword rankings — which terms your pages rank for and at what position
  • Show CTR and impressions data so you can identify high-impression, low-click pages
  • Build and score your topic clusters based on what you actually rank for vs. where you have gaps
  • Surface Quick Wins — keywords where a fresh article could push you from page 2 to page 1
Without GSC connected, the SEO Score and keyword data panels are unavailable.

Prerequisites

  • A Google Search Console account with your website verified
  • Owner or Full User access to the GSC property
  • Your website must have at least some indexed pages (GSC data appears after Google has crawled and indexed your site)

How to connect

1

Open Settings and scroll to **Integrations**

Navigate to /app/settings in UPBEAT OS.
2

Find the Google Search Console card

Scroll to the Google Search Console section and click Connect.
3

Sign in with Google

You’ll be redirected to Google’s OAuth consent screen. Sign in with the Google account that owns or has Full User access to your GSC property. Click Allow on the permissions screen.
4

Select your property

UPBEAT OS shows a list of GSC properties on your account. Select the property for your website. Properties are listed as either domain properties (e.g., sc-domain:yourdomain.com) or URL-prefix properties (e.g., https://yourdomain.com/).
5

Confirm the connection

You’ll be returned to the Integrations page. The GSC card should show a green Connected status.

What you’ll see once connected

After the first data sync (within 24 hours):
  • Your SEO Score appears as the hero metric on the Performance dashboard
  • Keyword rankings show which queries are driving impressions and clicks
  • Topic clusters are populated and scored based on your actual search data
  • Beat’s Quick Wins section identifies keywords with the fastest improvement potential
  • The Strategy page gains additional specificity in its content recommendations

How to disconnect

Open Settings and scroll to Integrations, find the Google Search Console card, and click Disconnect. Your SEO Score and keyword data will become unavailable until you reconnect.

Troubleshooting

My website isn’t showing in the property list: Your Google account may not have access to that GSC property. Check that you’re logged into the right Google account, or ask the property owner to add you as a Full User in GSC settings. SEO Score is 0 after connecting: If your website is new or has very few indexed pages, GSC may have limited data to work with. The score will improve as more pages get indexed and accumulate impression data. Check back after 1–2 weeks. Data stopped updating: Disconnect and reconnect GSC to refresh the authorization. If the issue persists, contact help@useupbeat.com.
