What version history is
A version is a full snapshot of your Brand Beat at a specific point in time — capturing every field across Identity & Voice, Visual, Pillars & Content, Audience, and Training. Versions are created only by full regenerations, not by manual field edits. If you’ve regenerated your Brand Beat three times, you’ll have three saved versions plus your current version.Version history is a paid feature. Starter plans see and restore the most recent version; Pro plans see full history (up to 50 versions). Free plans don’t see version history but their edits are still being snapshotted in the background — upgrading later unlocks the saved versions.
How to view version history
Comparing versions
When you open version history, you can click any saved version to preview it. The preview shows you the content of that version across all tabs so you can compare it to your current Brand Beat. Look for changes in:- Positioning statement wording
- Voice descriptor choices
- Content pillar names and descriptions
- Audience pain points and psychographics
How to restore a previous version
Select the version to restore
Click on the version you want to go back to. Preview it to confirm it’s the right one.
Manual edits vs regeneration
| Action | Creates a new version? |
|---|---|
| Clicking a field and editing it directly | No |
| Using the text selection popup (Sharpen / Simplify / Rewrite) | No |
| Applying a proposed change from Beat chat | No |
| Clicking Regenerate on the Overview tab | Yes |

- You’ve added new training samples and want to see how they change one section
- Your business direction has meaningfully changed
- You’re launching a new offer or pivoting your positioning
- Your audience has shifted significantly
- You want a complete fresh take with your new intake answers
